Dubbed the “World’s Supermarket”, Yiwu in Jinhua, Zhejiang Province, has stepped up global market expansion efforts throughout 2026, rolling out targeted support policies to help local foreign trade enterprises explore overseas markets, participate in international exhibitions and secure cross-border orders amid evolving global trade dynamics.
To boost enterprises’ overseas outreach in the first quarter of 2026, YiwuSell Group has arranged its affiliated branch companies to join 22 professional overseas exhibitions across global key markets, according to Geroge P., General Manager of YiwuSell Group Company.
The exhibition layout covers both mature and high-potential emerging overseas markets. Mature markets include Germany, France, Italy and the United States, while emerging growth markets feature Mexico and Panama. The showcased core product categories focus on Yiwu’s advantageous consumer goods, covering apparel, stationery, toys, promotional gifts, beauty cosmetics and daily necessities, which enjoy strong global market demand.
Jia Liping highlighted the robust market enthusiasm of local Yiwu enterprises in global layout. Both time-honored traditional trade firms and professional niche market enterprises have shown full confidence in capturing overseas orders and expanding cross-border business in 2026.
In addition to global roadshow exhibitions, Yiwu is actively exploring Southeast Asian market opportunities. The 2026 Yiwu Fair Overseas Exhibition is officially scheduled to take place in Indonesia from May 12 to May 14.
“As the largest economy within ASEAN, Indonesia boasts a huge consumer base and tremendous market potential for Chinese daily consumer goods,” explained Chen Nuo from the Exhibition Department of Zhejiang China Commodities City Group, who oversees the operation of the 2026 Yiwu Fair Indonesia Exhibition.
Chen added that the event will set up 200 dedicated booths for Yiwu and Zhejiang foreign trade enterprises, building a professional docking platform for local manufacturers and traders to target the booming Southeast Asian market and deepen regional trade cooperation.
At the municipal government level, Yiwu Bureau of Commerce has launched a full-year overseas expansion action plan for 2026. In the first quarter alone, the bureau will organize 5 overseas business delegations, gathering more than 300 local enterprises to participate in global exhibition activities.
Throughout 2026, Yiwu aims to support over 1,500 foreign trade enterprises in attending high-quality overseas exhibitions. This systematic initiative effectively empowers local enterprises to secure stable orders, break into new international markets, stabilize cross-border trade expectations, and further consolidate Yiwu’s leading position in the global small commodity trade industry.
